A note from Kevin Lynch, Adobe CTO

One of my favorite things to do at Adobe is work on MAX, our annual designer and developer conference. It has continuously evolved and adapted over time, driven by our primary goal to host an outstanding event that inspires and is inspired by the Adobe community. It has emerged as a truly amazing event.

As MAX has grown, the team at Adobe is thinking ahead to what comes next and how the conference should evolve and maintain its status as the premier event for digital media. With this in mind, we have decided that the time is right to move to the spring event season rather than hold an end of year event. The next MAX will be hosted on May 4-8 in Los Angeles.

While we are still working on the full agenda for the conference, the program will be structured around the types of digital experiences important to designers and developers:

- Design and creativity

- Web sites, including the latest on HTML5, JavaScript and CSS

- Digital publishing, video, and gaming, including the latest on Flash

- Applications, particularly for mobile platforms

We will be announcing more details about MAX 2013 in the coming weeks and months, including a world-class speaker line-up of industry experts and luminaries.

In the meantime, if you attended MAX 2011, you can start using your free one-year Creative Cloud membership, including full access to all the of the CS6 applications and more. We appreciate your attending MAX and being among the first to experience Creative Cloud!

I have never been more excited to be working on digital experiences. We are now living in an incredibly disruptive period in technology as the world moves to a multiscreen, connected reality. This is an amazing atmosphere for innovation, and we are embracing this in the transformation of Adobe as well. I look forward to seeing you at MAX in May!

Kevin

UPDATE: May 11, 2012
At the time of the conference in October and in subsequent months, the MAX team thought the Touch Apps would be a part of the Creative Cloud that's why certain blog posts detailing the Creative Cloud subscription free to MAX 2011 attendees include a reference to Touch Apps. Unfortunately, the Touch Apps are not a part of your free year long subscription. We apologize for any confusion, but we hope you enjoy your complimentary year long access to Adobe Creative Cloud and the latest Adobe Creative Suite 6 software.

This week MAX attendees will be getting an email from the MAX team on how to claim their first free MAX 2011 gift that will allow you to create an iPad app using Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, Single Edition. So be sure to check your in box!

We also want to update you on the complimentary Adobe Creative Cloud membership each attendee has coming their way in the first half of 2012. This membership provides you with a comprehensive set of tools including the full offering of Adobe Creative Suite desktop applications, the six Adobe Touch Apps announced at MAX, and additional applications, services, and inspiring community features.

There has been a lot of buzz about the very recently released Adobe Touch Apps that were announced at MAX. While these Touch Apps will be part of your Adobe Creative Cloud membership, they are also being sold separately. So, if you can't wait for your complimentary Adobe Creative Cloud membership and want to access any of the six Adobe Touch Apps for creativity now, they are available for download via the Android Market (each priced at $9.99USD). The availability of Touch Apps for the iPad will be announced at a later date.

Check out this FAQ for more information on what will be in your complimentary Adobe Creative Cloud membership--CS desktop apps, the Adobe Touch Apps, and more.
