MegaLabs! Coming To A MAX Near You Soon!

Hi, Ben Forta here dropping by the official MAX blog ...

At MAX we host several types of sessions. These include:
  • The tried and true 60 minute lecture style sessions, a chance to hear and learn from experts, interact, ask some questions, and walk away hopefully inspired and somewhat wiser.
  • Then there are the 90 minute lab sessions, hands-on experiences that tend to cover less content than can be covered in the lectures, but offering the chance to learn by doing. Hands-on labs have limited space (there are a finite number of computers and seats available), and they always sell out quickly (we usually have a waiting list for last minute additions).
  • Informal "Birds-of-a-Feather" sessions (or BOFs for short) are after-hours hour-long informal get-together's on predetermined subjects, usually driven by the attendees as opposed to being driven by MAX organizers.
And this year we're going to try something new and exciting (and perhaps a little crazy, too). Imagine a hands-on lab room many times the size of the usual labs. Now picture lots and lots of MAX attendees, 200 or more, each armed with their own laptops that we've configured ahead of time, and all following along with an instructor through fast-paced examples. And when the session is complete, attendees will have fully configured and functional environments on their own machines for future use.

Sounds fun, I know. And they are new this year, debuting at MAX in San Francisco - MegaLabs!

I'll be presenting one, a getting-started crash-course session on LiveCycle Data Services and BlazeDS entitled Getting Started with LiveCycle Data Services on Monday, November 17, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm. And there are at least two more MegaLabs planned, one on AIR and one on AfterEffects.

We'll post more details on MegaLabs nearer the time. But for now, registration is open, and I hope you can join us for the fun!
